This year marks 10 years since I started Purrfect Company, and honestly, I can't quite believe it.

Back in 2016, I was working full-time in a creative project management role and spending my spare time doing something I absolutely loved - looking after cats! What started as a handful of cat sitting bookings around Portsmouth quickly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

In the early days, it was just me, my bike, and lots of cats! I spent my mornings, evenings and weekends cycling all over Portsmouth, visiting cats before and after work. I loved every minute of it and felt incredibly lucky to spend time with so many wonderful cats and their owners.

As more customers started recommending me to friends and family, I became busier than I could manage alone. That's when I welcomed another sitter to help, and from there Purrfect Company continued to grow as more people looked for reliable, trustworthy cat care in their local area.

Like many businesses, we faced challenges along the way. The COVID lockdowns and travel restrictions meant many people weren't able to take holidays abroad, which naturally had a huge impact on cat sit bookings. It was certainly an uncertain time for everyone.

However many families welcomed gorgeous new cats and kittens into their homes during lockdown and once people were able to travel again, there was a growing need for trusted local sitters to care for them. We found ourselves busier than ever, helping owners enjoy their holidays knowing their beloved pets were safe, happy and cared for at home.

Today, Purrfect Company works with a fantastic network of over 35 trusted sitters across South Hampshire. Together, we've cared for thousands of cats, built lasting relationships with our customers, and shared more daily cat photos and videos than I could ever count!

I am incredibly proud of what we've achieved over the last 10 years. Thank you to every customer who has trusted us with their cats, recommended us to friends, left us a review, or followed our journey along the way.

A huge thank you also goes to all of the wonderful Purrfect Company sitters, past and present. Your reliability, kindness and love of cats have helped make Purrfect Company what it is today.
