Version July 2026 Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all bookings taking place from 1st July 2026. For bookings confirmed from 1st June 2026 onwards, these updated Terms will apply.

1. Parties & Role of Purrfect Company

These Terms form an agreement between the Customer and the Sitter, who is an independent cat sitter supplying services directly to the Customer.

Purrfect Company acts solely as a disclosed agent. It does not provide cat sitting services. Its role is limited to arranging bookings, handling administration and communication, collecting payments on behalf of the Sitter, deducting agreed commission, and providing access to group insurance.

The Sitter is the principal supplier and is fully responsible for delivering the cat sitting service.

The Customer is required to sign the booking form to confirm acceptance of these Terms and Conditions or acknowledge these new terms and conditions directly to the sitter at time of booking. 


2. Service Delivery & Responsibilities

The Sitter is responsible for carrying out all agreed services, including visits, feeding, cleaning, administering medication where agreed, and providing updates to the Customer.

The Sitter supplies the service and determines how the service is carried out.

Purrfect Company:

  • does not carry out cat sitting
  • does not supervise the Sitter

The Customer must notify the Sitter of any changes to care instructions or circumstances before each booking. The Sitter may decline a booking if updates create safety or welfare concerns.


3. Fees, Payments & VAT

The price of services is set by the Sitter and confirmed to the Customer in advance.

Payments are made to Purrfect Company acting as agent on behalf of the Sitter. On receipt, Purrfect Company:

  • deducts its agreed commission (plus VAT)
  • transfers the remaining amount to the Sitter

VAT is charged only on Purrfect Company’s commission, not on the Sitter’s fee.

Invoices will clearly show the full amount paid, including the breakdown of commission and VAT.

Customers may pay by debit or credit card if preferred. Card payments are processed by Purrfect Company as agent on behalf of the Sitter.
A 3% processing charge applies to card transactions, which reflects the external payment provider’s fee. This charge will be clearly itemised on the payment link issued to the Customer.

Christmas: 

Christmas and peak season dates are charged at non standard rates, which are set by the Sitter for this period. The Customer will be provided with a Christmas quotation before confirming the booking.

A 25% deposit may be paid to reserve Christmas dates. However, the full balance must be paid no later than 1 month before the start date. As Purrfect Company collects payment as agent on behalf of the Sitter, a booking cannot be confirmed until full payment has been received.

If full payment is not received by the 1month deadline, the booking will be cancelled and the deposit will be forfeited, as the Sitter will have reserved the dates exclusively for the Customer.

Due to high seasonal demand, all payments for Christmas bookings are nonrefundable within 1 month of the start date, and credits are not applicable to future bookings. The Customer may cancel up to 1 month before the start date for a refund of any deposit or full payment made.

Purrfect Company remains available to assist with communication; however, refunds or booking alterations relating to Christmas service issues rest with the Sitter as the supplier.


4. Booking Confirmation & Ongoing Bookings

A booking is confirmed only once full payment has been received.

The Customer must ensure all booking details are accurate and must inform the Sitter of any changes before the booking begins.

Future bookings may be arranged directly with the Sitter, but:

  • must still be paid through Purrfect Company
  • remain subject to these Terms

The Sitter may decline a booking if conditions are unsuitable.


5. Initial Meeting & Care Information

An initial booking meeting is required before confirming a booking. This allows both parties to confirm suitability.

During this meeting, the Sitter will record:

  • care routines
  • feeding schedules
  • medication requirements
  • access arrangements
  • home instructions

The Customer must provide accurate and complete information. If circumstances change, the Customer must update the Sitter before the booking.


6. Cancellations & Refunds

Bookings become binding once payment is received.

  • Cancellations made more than 3 weeks before     the start date receive a full refund
  • Cancellations made within 3 weeks are non‑refundable

This applies regardless of reason, including illness, travel disruption, or emergencies.

Sitters reserve their time exclusively for confirmed bookings, and may decline other work as a result. Credits will not be applied to future bookings.

Purrfect Company may assist with communication, but refund decisions relating to the service remain with the Sitter as the supplier.


7. Customer Responsibilities & Home Requirements

The Customer must:

  • provide sufficient food, litter, and supplies
  • ensure safe and secure access to the property
  • maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment
  • ensure the cat is suitably cared for prior to the      booking

The Customer must also:

  • ensure flea treatment is up to date
  • clean litter before sit commences
  • provide a spare key location or a spare key to      sitter
  • remain contactable during the booking

If the home environment is unsafe or unsuitable when they arrive, the Sitter may adjust/reduce the service.


8. Keys, Access & Security

The Customer must provide a working key or agreed access method before the booking begins.

Keys are stored securely without identifying address details.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring access works correctly. If the Sitter cannot gain access due to:

  • incorrect or faulty keys
  • blocked locks
  • access restrictions

the Customer is responsible for any resulting costs, including locksmith fees.

Where necessary, Purrfect Company may arrange access if the Customer cannot be reached, and all costs must be reimbursed.

The key will be returned to the Customer within one week of the final visit, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed directly with the Sitter.

The Customer may choose to leave their key with the Sitter for future bookings. If so, the key will be held securely with no identifying address or personal details attached.


9. Visits, Timing & Missed Visits

Visit times are arranged directly between the Customer and the Sitter.

AM is normally before 10am. PM after 4pm. – Approx time windows should be confirmed by sitter before start of sit.

Specific times cannot always be guaranteed due to scheduling, but reasonable efforts will be made.

If:

  • the Customer is still home when the Sitter arrives
  • the Customer returns early
  • the visit is no longer required

then the visit remains chargeable in full, as the time has been reserved.

If the Sitter is able to return later the same day, this may incur an additional visit fee.


10. Cat Not Found & Visit Duration

Each visit will typically last around 30 minutes.

If the cat cannot be located within a reasonable time, the Sitter may:

  • complete essential tasks (food, litter, water)
  • end the visit early

The full visit fee remains payable.

Where a cat is normally brought in and let out manually (i.e. no cat flap or restricted access cat flap), it is strongly recommended that the cat is kept indoors during the booking

If the Customer requests outdoor access, this must be agreed in advance. By doing so, the Customer accepts that the Sitter is not responsible if the cat does not return when called, and that the Sitter may be unable to complete certain aspects of care if the cat is not present.

If medication or timed care is required, the Sitter will require the cat to remain indoors to ensure safe and appropriate care.


11. Behaviour & Safety Adjustments

The Customer must disclose any behaviour concerns.

If a cat displays aggressive or unsafe behaviour that was not disclosed, the Sitter may:

  • limit handling
  • provide essential care only

The booking remains fully chargeable.


12. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

If the cat becomes unwell:

  • the Sitter will contact the Customer as soon as      possible
  • updates will be provided

In emergencies where the Customer cannot be reached:

  • the Sitter may seek urgent veterinary support
  • vets may stabilise the cat if necessary

All veterinary costs are the responsibility of the Customer.

Time spent attending vet visits will be charged separately at Sitter bank holiday rates. 


13. Supplies & Additional Costs

The Customer must ensure enough supplies of food and litter for the duration of the booking.

If supplies run out, the Sitter may purchase items as required. The Customer agrees to reimburse all costs at end of sit.

Reimbursements must be paid through Purrfect Company before keys are returned.


14. Liability

The Sitter is responsible for delivering the service.

Purrfect Company is responsible only for its agency services (booking, communication, payments).

Damage caused by the Customer’s cat remains the Customer’s responsibility.


15. Insurance

Purrfect Company provides group insurance covering Sitters while carrying out services arranged through the platform.

This insurance:

  • forms part of the agency service
  • does not replace sitter responsibility

Details are available on request.


16. Sitter Availability & Backup

If the Sitter becomes unavailable due to illness or emergency, Purrfect Company will assist in arranging cover where possible.

Replacement sitters will be vetted, and the Customer will be informed.

Responsibility for service delivery remains with the Sitter.


17. Extending or Changing Bookings

If the Customer wishes to extend a booking:

  • this must be agreed directly with the Sitter
  • payment must be made through Purrfect Company

Availability is not guaranteed.

Additional charges apply at standard rates.


18. Medication

If medication is required:

  • full instructions must be provided with photos      using the Medicine form link from the cat sitter
  • medication must be clearly accessible

The Sitter will supply an online medication form, which the Customer must complete before each sit, detailing:

  • the type of medication,
  • the exact dosage with photo
  • the time(s) it must be administered, and
  • any special handling or feeding requirements.

The Sitter will follow instructions but cannot guarantee administration if the cat refuses.

Additional charges may apply for medication – set by sitter. 


19. Homestay (Overnight) Services

The Homestay Cat Sitting Service is supplied by the Sitter in their own name and as principal supplier. Purrfect Company does not provide the cat sitting service and does not stay in the Customer’s home.

The Sitter will take good care of the Customer’s cats and home during the booking period and will act with skill, care and professionalism in line with the agreed service.

For homestays:

  • the Sitter stays in the Customer’s home
  • the Sitter supplies the service directly

The Customer must provide:

  • clean bedding
  • a safe and hygienic home
  • access to necessary facilities

If third parties (e.g. sitter’s partner) are present:

  • prior approval is required

The Sitter will:

  • Feed the cat(s) in the morning and evening in      accordance with the Customer’s normal routine
  • Ensure fresh water is available at all times
  • Follow all care instructions, permissions and      requirements recorded on the booking form from the initial meeting. 

These documents form part of the service agreement between the Customer and the Sitter.

For Homestay bookings – Deposits: 

  • A minimum payment of 50% of the total booking fee      is required at least two months before the booking start date
  • Full payment must be received no later than one      month before the booking start date

As Purrfect Company collects payments as agent on behalf of the Sitter, payments belong to the Sitter, less the agreed agency commission.

Cancellations:

  • The 50% payment is non‑refundable if the booking is      cancelled within one month of the start date
  • No refund or credit is available if the booking is      cancelled within three weeks of the start date

These terms apply regardless of the reason for cancellation. Credits cannot be applied.

Cat supplies:

The Customer must provide sufficient food, litter and essential supplies to cover the full duration of the Homestay booking.

If additional supplies must be purchased to maintain the cat’s welfare, the Sitter will retain receipts and the Customer agrees to reimburse the full cost upon their return.

Property condition:

The Customer must ensure the property is clean, hygienic and safe for occupation at the start of the Homestay booking.

The Sitter will leave the property in substantially the same condition as found, allowing for reasonable domestic use.

Keys and Access:

The Sitter will remain at the property until the Customer returns, unless an alternative departure time has been agreed in advance between the Customer and the Sitter.

Key handover arrangements must be agreed before the final day of the booking.

The Sitter is free to come and go at the property but must stay overnight and ensure they are at home at least 50% of the time during the day. 

Use of rooms: 

By granting access to the property, the Customer authorises the Sitter’s reasonable use of household facilities, including kitchen equipment, washing machines and dishwashers.

Any rooms, items or facilities the Customer does not wish the Sitter to use must be clearly recorded on the booking form prior to the booking start date.

  

20. General Terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.

Purrfect Company operates solely as a disclosed agent and does not supply cat sitting services.
